Terrafame project

GRM had quite an interesting project at the Terrafame mine in Sotkamo.

We utilized the Electrical Resistivity Imaging (ERI) method on the bioleaching heaps to delineate and characterize the flow/seepage of the conductive pregnant leach solution (PLS) through the heaps.

This new data assists on the optimization of the multi-lift process.

In other industrial environments, the method also helps delineating horizontal and vertical changes to lithology, sediment size, permeability, soil moisture as well as phreatic surfaces.
